I spent the first half of the year staring out my window. Not because it was a nice view. It was just 4 feet then a wall. There was just an irony in that that was my only glimpse of what was going on outside of myself during that period of introspection. I saw nothing until I left. I was left with muddy waters. All that was left to do was to steady my mind.
For a while I couldn’t find the ground because of the constant rain. Every time I found some stability the dirt beneath seemed to erode away and I was face first in the mud. Stuck comparing the muck in the mire to the muck in my mind. I learned a long time ago to find beauty in all things but my rose colored glasses were losing their hue. That had a lot to do with me and you.
Nowadays the sun is a little brighter. I don’t have that same tint to life but there is still an abundance of warmth. I’m no longer scurrying in effort to survive the winter. I have faith in a world that provides. I found it somewhere familiar. As an important person to me once said “The best way to steady muddy waters is do nothing.”
